Yarm School
0-3 Years

Planning Proposal

Yarm School 0-3 Years

The UK Government has introduced a Childcare Expansion policy, effective from April 2024, that will be fully implemented by September 2025. This policy ensures that all eligible working families can access 30 hours of funded nursery provision for children from the age of 9 months.

Recognising the limited nursery provision in the Yarm area, subject to a successful planning outcome, Yarm School has decided to expand its offering by establishing Yarm School 0-3 Years with a plan to offer flexible and reliable childcare, open 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, 50 weeks a year for children aged 0-3 years. Consultations with Stockton Council’s Childcare Sufficiency Team have confirmed high demand for early years education and support in setting up the 0-3 years provision.

This initiative will enhance local childcare provision while also ensuring a seamless transition for children continuing their education at Yarm School. The 0-3 years provision will uphold the school’s ethos and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, maintaining a consistent and high-quality approach to early education.
