Building and Site
Design
The approach for The Hermitage building is to maintain the identity of the original two storey building as the primary element and to express the new single storey extension to the rear and side as a complementary and contemporary element that does not strive to mimic the main building.

The proposals make full use of the original existing building with very little alteration to the original structure proposed, with only the more recent single storey element currently housing a store room to the rear of the original building to be demolished.
